Our drummer was a friend stepping in but we now seek someone with a high technical and creative ability, with songwriting skills and a positive 'go get it' attitude. Ideal styles would be Joey Castillo from QOTSA but everybody is different and as long as you're a hard hitting, solid drummer with a love of good music we'll get on fine. Our material ranges from real doomy stoner sections to more punk/krautrock/garage and psychedelic songs. We would be and have been writing furiously to find our sound and it's a very exciting time for us.
We are going to be gigging a lot this year, and practice at least once a week - it's going to be quite time consuming. We often have a quiet writing session one day at our house before going to a rehearsal studio for an evening to work it out each week so we are keeping the pace up and you need to be able to commit quite a lot of time to it. We have just finished recording a single with our new producer and will have studio time booked in February which will be £100 each for 2 consecutive days plus £10 each for having each track mastered of a 3 or 4 track first release
Expect to contribute to rehearsal space once a week (up to £15-£20 each) and to fuel expenses for gigs all over the country. You must at least have your own breakables but ideally a full kit. Transport is not essential but desirable - we practice at various rehearsal rooms around Brighton but usually Brighton Electric so you need to be able to get there.
If you're not 110% enthusiastic and willing to give it your all then it's just not going to work! We want someone who wants to make this band their primary focus and is willing to spend their spare time searching out gigs, contacting promoters etc.
We are 21, 21, 24 and 24 and love a good drink etc - playing live as much as possible is our objective for 2017.
It would be really helpful if you have videos or recordings of anything you've done before as we've had some time wasted by people showing up who just can't keep up.
If you want to come and see us live our drummers last gig is going to be next Friday 13th Jan at Sticky Mikes Frog Bar in Brighton
Really excited to hear from you and get jamming this week.
