Any female musicians lurking out there who can play bass guitar or keyboard interested in joining a goth-rocknroll-postpunk-type band?
Some of our influences: The Gun Club, Eagulls, The Ramones,, The Cramps, Patti Smith, Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, Nick Cave, Joy Division, The Clash.
The main aim is to blend rock 'n' roll, punk and all things dark without being theatrical or clichéd about it. We've got some demos, get in touch if you wanna listen.
The bass style we're after - punk with some rock n roll swing. Playing what's right for the song is more important than anything complicated/technical.
And we would like to bring some goth influence to the sound if we can along the lines of Siouxsie, Death Valley Girls, Subtonix... some dramatic/dark backing vocals if you're up for singing.
The important thing is that your soul is more or less eternally damned to walk between the dead and the living really...
Our drummer is new so you wouldn't be the only newbie in the group.
Why are we looking for a female? Well it could make the band more interesting, cooler, better.... also we wanna use a lot of vocals to build a distinct and strong sound, so female vocals (if you sing) would be a great addition
We're based in Teesside, practice every 1-2 weeks on a weekday evening in Middlesbrough.
We've got contacts in the UK and Europe for gigs... songs already written, more in the pipeline that just need assembling in a practice room.
We are (males): singer-guitarist-songwriter, guitarist, drummer. Our age range is 24ish - 30ish. We are experienced, but welcome an inexperienced musician. All friendly etc. We have contacts for gigs locally, nationally and in Europe so we wanna get the set together and build up to travelling as much as possible.
We can link you to some early demos if you want to get an idea of the sound. Get in touch!
