The Stacks are on the lookout for a new drummer. Our current drummer is moving on to fulfill his ambitions to quit the day job and earn his living as a professional musician and music teacher.
Who we are
We are a Bristol-based four piece band (Lead vocals, guitar (+backing vox) drums and bass).
We are well established, with a professional attitude and an excellent live reputation. Working with local agents, we play some of the better live music venues in Bristol and the surrounding areas.
We are all nice blokes with a good humoured, positive attitude! Aged between mid 30s to mid 40s, we have day jobs and families, but still enjoy getting out most weekends to gig.
We play mostly pubs and social clubs with the odd function gig.
What we do
We play pop, soul, funk and rock covers ... All well known classics, but we try and avoid the obvious songs played by many bands (definitely no Sex on Fire, Brown eyed Girl , Mr Brightside, etc.). We like to put our own spin on things to keep it interesting for us and fresh and entertaining for the audience.
The Setlist includes 60s soul classics, monster 80s and 90s pop and rock hits, and funky tunes aimed at getting people singing along and dancing.
What we can offer
30-36 paid gigs per year at decent venues.
A great live sound. You will be playing with guys who understand the importance of a balanced sound at a reasonable volume. Your kit will be mic'd at every gig so your playing will always be heard.
Free rehearsals (we use a room at a pub and play their annual cider festival for free).
Access to local agents, band accounts with Invapay and Events UK.
Full transparency on gig fees, costs, payments, etc. Biannual summaries of earnings.
Band calendar with access for partners, and confirmation of your availability before any gig is booked.
Annual band meetings
Public liability insurance
If all of this sounds like something you would like to be a part of then please get in touch. You will need your own transport, and professional equipment. Any links to videos or recordings greatly appreciated.
We look forward to hearing from you!
