We are a new band (singer/multi-instrumentalist, guitarist, bass player/multi-instrumentalist) looking for a drummer. Our age range is mid-twenties to mid-fifties, all male but any and all genders welcome. Our singer sounds like a cross between Morrissey and Freddie Mercury, which has shaped our choice of chosen songs to date. However, the whole direction of the band is open and we're looking for a drummer who can contribute rather than just being "part of the backing band".
We welcome seasoned professionals and beginners who have never been in a band alike. We want a drummer who can do fills and take spots in the limelight as well as being solid. If you can sing backing vocals or another instrument, that is a bonus that will be exploited The only essentials are:
- Some of the venues will be small, with limited stage space, so flexibilty of drum-kit size is key.
- You must have transport
- You must be over 18
- You must live within striking distance of Oxford
To start with, we will do covers until we find our voice. However, we're all interested in writing and recording originals, so that will come with the opportunity for everyone to contribute creatively with ideas, songs, tunes, themes, and words. We want to play live a lot and expect we'll end up with a version of the band that concentrates on covers to play Friday-night pub-gigs (for money) and a version of the band that plays originals for when we can get gigs where people are actually interested in listening to us.
You can hear a mashup of "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" (The Smiths), "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and "Don't Stop me Now" (Queen), and "Pinball Wizard" (The Who/Elton John) at the link below. However, like I said, our direction is still very open at the moment, so these are not necessarily the covers we will continue with:

So, if the above is of interest, please either DM me or send an email to mikejunk@michaelamos.net. Please include a link to you playing something, even if it's just a recording on your phone.
We look forward to hearing from you
