We are two Film students from Middlesex University and we are currently working on a short documentary about Denmark Street. The documentary will follow me, the director, and the progression of a petition to make Denmark Street a Heritage site.
By creating the petition, we hope to attract the attention of English Heritage and Camden Borough Council to put forward a proposal for the status upgrade of Tin Pan Alley. To help us achieve this we are calling on you, the British Public, to aid us in our attempt. To anyone that values Britain’s musical legacy, Denmark Street is an incredibly historical site that has hosted the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Sex Pistols, The Kinks, David Bowie, Elton John and Adele.
Making Denmark Street a Heritage site will help preserve the history of the buildings, and Denmark Street could again become the heart of the British Music Industry.
