Hey there
We are a new group based in east London, mid 20's to early 30's, looking for an experienced guitarist or synth player with a wide range of tastes and influences to come join our musical fold. We are currently 3: bassist, drummer and vocalist with mininova synth and have a shared rehearsal space in west ham that we are in 2-3 times a week crafting our weird sounds. We work hard to push ourselves into strange creative territory and have a really great time doing it. The freedom afforded us by having our own space means we never feel under pressure when rehearsing and writing, fantastic music making environment.
The music we are making is difficult to describe but comes from our collective array of influences. At times it can be noise/wall of sound then suddenly dropping into jazz/blues riffs with soaring melodies. Other times shouted word over primitive drum patterns stepping up to driving riffs and infectious hooks. Strange lyrics are crunched between strangling parts or skate over melodic passages; words on love in nuclear holocaust, parallel paradises, overpopulation crises. Think disturbing, progressive, dark and conceptual. Songs with unusual structures, splicing different genres together which would not usually be put with one another to create strange concoctions.
A few of the bands we listen to range from
Industrial such as Throbbing Gristle, Whitehouse
Noise rock: Jesus Lizard, The Birthday Party, Daughters, Swans
Kraut/Progressive rock: Can, Neu, Genesis, King Crimson
Jazz/Blues: Miles Davis, John Zorn, Nina Simone
As you can tell there's a real mixture there but the huge array of influences makes for a cross genre, unusual kind of music. It's important to note that there's still so much room for creative input, influences and ideas for the right person and we revel in crafting and working around new ideas.
If you're interested please message back with a bit about yourself and an email so we can send you over some rough demos. Then if all goes swimmingly meet up for a drink and we can all chat about our specific musical turn ons. I know you'll find it a very exciting project to be a part of, look forward to hearing from you
all the best
