I'm looking for accomplished players who relish excellent sound, intricate and subtle execution and outstanding songwriting.
Ideally I'm looking for guys in their fifties with a solid work ethic and love for the unplugged sound.
There is a niche for a refined, AC (adult contemporary) band to play for people who want to leave the boozing scene behind and enjoy an adult night out. I'm looking for very versatile players:
Keyboard (Hornsby / Joel), Lead guitar (Larry Carlton / Mark Knopfler), Multi-instrumentalist (Saxaphone, Fiddle, Accordian etc), Elec Bass (fretless and fretted), Drums (percussion, cajun box & v-drums), vocal ability preferred for all players - backing vocals at a high standard.
Prefer to gig weekly. Rehearsals twice weekly in the first six weeks, then as needed.
Sample set list:
Home at Last - Steely Dan
Still Crazy After All These Years - Paul Simon
Vienna - Billy Joel
Lost In The Snow - Bruce Hornsby
Nightingale - Norah Jones
Anna Begins - Counting Crows
The Reach - Dan Fogelberg
Wait for me - Hall & Oates
In A New York Minute - Don Henley
Sky Blue And Black - Jackson Browne
Whatever It Takes - Michael Bublé
Why Should I Cry For You - Sting
Woman In Chains - Tears For Fears
Mississippi - Train
Mischief & Control - Vonda Shepard
Ricochet in Time - Shawn Colvin
Wheel - John Mayer
Pretty Maids All In A Row - The Eagles
Portland Maine - Donovan Woods
BIO
I've been recording and performing for over 30 years in the US, Canada and the UK. As a lead vocalist and guitarist I have opened for acts such as the Wallflowers, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and Smashmouth, but I'm not limited to large venues. I have played pubs as an acoustic single act for over 35 years.
On the studio side of things I apprenticed as a recording engineer in Denver at the age of sixteen. Since then I have recorded countless small projects, a handful of original albums both in bands and as a solo artist and even run a small record label.
