Hi, I posted an advert a few weeks back advertising that I was starting a covers band from scratch. So far I have plenty of responses from bassists, guitarists and a few singers but I am still looking for a drummer to throw his hat into the ring!
As the subject line says this is a brand new covers band that has no history whatsoever, you will be part of the original line up. As such there is no set list and therefore a totally blank canvas. With no one particular style or direction we will be looking at playing an eclectic mix of songs but with an emphasis on "fun pub rock" - I basically enjoy crowds dancing and singing their hearts out along with the band! So everyone is welcome to suggest songs we could attempt. So far potential band members have suggested the following, and they are exactly the mix we are looking for!
Roachford - Cuddly Toy
Rocks - Primal Scream
Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison
Have you Ever Seen the Rain - Creedance Clearwater Revival
Love Spreads - Stone Roses
Any Oasis from Supersonic to Don't Look back in Anger.
Hole Hearted - Extreme
Various Beatles - the more rocky stuff though, think less Blackbird/Yesterday and more Twist and Shout/Back in the USSR.
Kiss - Prince/Tom Jones
Wherever you will go - The Calling
Black Velvet - Alannah Miles
But that's only the start - happy to try literally anything and see what works for us!
Open to any drummer of any age (above 18 ), experience or ability, just as long as your heart is in it, happy to rehearse once a week with a view to getting some gigs in the future once we have a decent setlist. Expenses will be split equally between all band members.
Hope to hear from you drummers soon.
Cheers.
