We are three middle-aged guys based just south of Dorking, Surrey with drums, keys & guitar/vocals.
We seem to have misplaced our fourth band member so we're now looking for an innovative bass player to help write and develop our sound.
We don't play covers but compose original material generally rock with a progressive feel-think Porcupine Tree/Marillion/Floyd. Influences range from Steely Dan to Zep, Clash to Zappa
We have a dedicated 32 track home/garden studio for live rehearsal/recording and a Mac Logic Pro DAW for more serious projects.
Our rehearsal space is fitted out with Roland drums & PA ready to go.Together with the other instruments, the bass is DI'd through the desk so no more humping bass amps around, just plug in and play.
All instrumentation including the drums are routed through a power mixer/PA with controlled volume. We are therefore able to play loud enough live without upsetting the neighbours.
A kettle, phone, heating & fridge with beer ease the cosy setting.
Once we month or so we go to a commercial studio/rehearsal room with an acoustic drum kit & Marshall amps to let rip at volume.
We played some festivals, private parties and pub gigs these last twelve months but ideally we would like to consolidate our sound, write and record new material with a view to securing a distribution deal with a label who have already expressed an interest in the songs. We have a band website set-up and use social media so we're not complete luddites.
We generally meet once a week for rehearsal(Sunday evening), more if needs be. Have a drink, laugh and put the world to rights but with jobs, families and mortgages, we've still a passion for playing and feel we still have something to say and remain musically relevant.
Players with ego's, no sense of humour or unrealistic aspirations for world domination will probably not be suitable.
Enthusiasm, reliability and commitment are more important than technical wizardry and the latest gear.
Thanks for looking and do get in touch if interested, we'd love to hear from you.
