Empyre
(Northampton & Bromsgrove)
Tuesday 18 Apr 2017, 2:44pm
Empyre (www.empyre.co.uk) is an established originals rock band. We are looking to audition and recruit an experienced and accomplished replacement bass player.
Due to the current pace at which the band is making a name for itself and the future commitments already in place not fitting with his home life our current bass player has informed us he needs to leave the band. This is an amicable split.
So we have some questions for you that we hope you answer “yes” to.
Are you, or do you know a skilled bass player (skilled is hard to define, we know, so make your best judgement) who:
• Lives in the UK, somewhere within the approximate area of Birmingham to the north, Milton Keynes to the east, Oxford to the south and Evesham to the West
• Likes rock music – at least our version of rock music, go check it (You can listen at www.soundcloud.com/empyrerock whilst reading the rest).
• Wants to join a committed, ambitious and professional level band
• Wants to get involved with promoting the band and building our fan base
• Is in the age range 20-40 years old
• Is comfortable writing bass parts
• Has a driver’s licence and their own transport
• Has all their own bass equipment needed for gigging and practise.
• Experience of being in a gigging band before would be valuable.
A bit about us:
We have recently signed a management deal and have a great relationship with them jointly driving the band forward. There are plans in place for gigs, festival dates, single, EP and video releases going into 2018.
Our sound: Think: some of the blues and country elements of Kings of Leon, guitar riffs in the spirit of Foo Fighters, the non-punky side of Pearl Jam and elements of Audioslave, Nickelback and Royal Blood along with some softer, melodic, atmospheric artists.
It is an exciting time to be in Empyre as we are just starting to make an impact on the rock scene and already have what we consider to be prestigious bookings that many bands only breaking onto the scene would not have the opportunity to do so early on.
We have recorded two EPs so far and have more material written and ready for recording. We do our fair share of gigging, but as much as possible gig smart and play the gigs worth playing not just playing a gig for the sake of it. Driving up and down to London to play to the bar staff is not our idea of a good use of time and resources for example. Practice will be once a week and we’ll try to find a time and place mutually convenient for all 4 band members.
Whilst we all have other jobs, Empyre is a very high priority and we need this to be the case for anyone seeking to join us.
Excited by all of that and feel you meet the above criteria? Then please get in touch.
If you don’t fit the criteria above but you want to follow our progress and/or you just want more information on Empyre you can get what you need in these places.
