Hi all,
28 year old male bass player looking to join or ideally establish an enthusiastic and committed band.
Like a range of music from all eras, everything from 50’s, 60’s, some 70’s but mostly 80’s. Not so thrilled with anything more modern than that but I’m pretty open to most stuff - although heavy rock or metal is a complete no go. Bass for me is not be played like a guitar so anything stupidly intensive and over the top just isn’t me. I play both fretted and fretless depending on the music. I also dabble with upright bass too so that should speak enough in terms of playing style. I don’t really play any slap as that doesn’t interest me much. I’m probably more reggae than rock.
Examples of the kinda stuff I play might be:
Cars and girls - Prefab Sprout
Let you down - PHD
Stupid girl - Garbage
Love plus one - Haircut 100
Sexual - Neiked
Moonlight shadow - Mike Oldfield
Iron lion Zion - Bob Marley
Give you up - Dido
Love revolution - Will Young
Round here - George Michael
Andromeda - Gorillaz
Streets of Philadelphia - Bruce Springsteen
Bad moon rising or Fortunate son - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Sticky situation - Kiki Bun
Money - Michael Kiwanuka
Walking on the Moon or So lonely - Police
A varied mix, I could go on and on..
Cover bands only - not at all interested in doing anyone’s originals. Also not really interested in any jamming as I’m pretty boring in terms of original creativity and I’ll be just that if I’m asked. Only Bob Marley does jamming. I’m just looking to play proper music, nothing else. Want to begin a band that does a range of tunes, the classic pub cover band kinda thing. Of course song choices would need to be negotiable over a pint as everyone needs to be happy. A deal breaker if this is not possible.
Ages aren’t an issue, just reliability! If you’re not going to actually come out your house and start playing music then why bother messaging?
Cheers,
Chris
