I have just self-released my debut 'Six Feet Under EP' (links below) and I'm currently seeking live band members (as well as mixing/mastering opportunities).
I'd love to put together a group of passionate musicians, preferably of varied musical backgrounds - vocalist, drummer and bassist. The other, less classic option is a two-piece collaboration (the-white-stripes-royal-blood-21-pilots-kind-of-thing) or I can join an established band as a rhythm guitarist as well. It all depends on how well our musical visions will work together, you can't tell until you try.
I have no professional background, I am not a virtuoso, and I don't expect it from people I'm looking to play with. To me it's all about:
-being unique and focusing on your own way to express as a musician,
-being committed as a band member,
-being able to shape the character of the band creatively.
Influences (in a ridicoulsly wide perspective):
Blindead, Isis, Red Sparowes, Tool, Blackfield, Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson, Riverside, Katatonia, God Is An Astronaut, Northlane, System Of A Down, Seether, Linkin Park (early), Bring Me The Horizon, Of Mice & Men and more
Goals set for the band would be simple: practice as much as possible (definitely on weekends, maybe during the week - all due to a full time job), start gigging (short 30-min set will do for now) and work on a full length album. I'd like it to be more 'sludgy' sounding and definitely a bit heavier than my EP, with a dark and powerful male vocal.
If you're a vocalist, try and see if you feel comfortable singing with my instrumental tracks, maybe you could record a sketch and send it over? Our own rehearsal place would be a great asset, but there's plenty of rooms for hire in the area. I also own a car, so I can commute within a reasonable distance.
Sounds good? Don't be shy and let me know if you want to be a part of this (or if you want me to become a part of YOUR project). Feel free to attach samples of your ideas, so we both know where we're coming from.
