Hi all,
mature bassist with plenty of gigging experience looking to start a new project - particularly dance music from the 70 80 90s. Would like to be of a high standard and have some fun doing it to.
I particularly like Bowie, The Police, electronic music, rock n pop from these years but like good music in general (I know there are so many). I am in another band so this would be a project alongside for the time being..
Ideally, would like to create a show band which gives a nod to the more familar bands / favourites and ocassionally plays maybe 3/4 strung together at a time of reduced length tunes without breaks (not stars on 45 but along those lines) depending on the year and venue of course. So maybe 2 or 3 Police, followed by 2/3 Bowie and maybe Stones, then maybe Tears for fears set out along the decades - you get the picture. This is just an idea and will need your input of course.
So I'm thinking:
Keys / Synth / midi player - especially for the 70/ 80s - open to digital wonders like backing tracks / samples if we can make it work - but not essential.
Lead Guitar
Rhythm Guitar - guitars could share / alternate?
Bass (me of course)
Drums - Electronic kit maybe?
Male and Female singers and backing vox from band - TBD
Its a big ask and I've tried this before but hey you never know. Would like to rehease near Banbury but willing to travel if not too far and share the travelling.
If you are interested in one of the places above - Please send private messages to me and some video links of you performing so I can pick the best candidates.
cheers
John
