We're looking for a mature, experienced guitarist to share duties with our current guitarist in our classic rock covers band.
You will be 35+ and happy to be seen hanging around with old gits. You will be ego-less but quietly confident, reliable, possessing good equipment and owning decent transport. You will have a keen, in depth understanding of when to step out and when to step back.
We do dip our toe in the insalubrious world of pop when the occasion demands, but prefer to keep it on the rock side. No huge surprises in terms of who we cover (Lizzy, Floyd, Hendrix, Tom Petty ZZ Top, etc.), but we like to go off piste with the likes of Steely Dan and Little Feat, so you need to be unfazed by minor 7 flat 5's or being told this one's a i, vi, ii, v in Ab and look out for the 8 bars of 5/4 after the bridge. We don't do metal, so shredders with a wasp-in-a-jar tone needn't apply, nor should shoe-gazers, indie-rockers or anyone who's even been in the same room as an accordion.
If you can also step up to the plate and share in the lead vocals department, we'd probably be prepared to have your babies. Failing that, chipping in on BVs is always looked kindly upon.
Without wishing to sound firmly entrenched up our own bottoms, there is no tearing hurry to find a 2nd guitarist, so we're prepared to spend as long as it takes to find the right person. We are an equal opportunities employer and don't give a toss about your colour, gender or sexual orientation but draw the line at anyone from Planet Dickhead or Llanelli.
We don't take ourselves remotely seriously, but we do treat the music with as much respect and care as we believe it deserves.
If you're thinking, hey! I could work with these blokes, then PM us.
Cheers,
JH.
