When some just drop their link on here!!
Post replyWednesday 25 Oct 2017, 11:38am
I've noticed a few times on here some just drop a link to their track.
Some of us take the time to listen and give feedback but the op to the post gives no response or engages.
I use this forum to engage with other creatives and help learn our craft. Some just use it to advertise.
Rant over!

Lol its a funny old world. I've said similar before, and invited people to join in with the community spirit and review other people's work but got blasted by the site's almighty troll for daring to say such a thing - ha! I do find it a bit "entitled" when people just post a link saying "please review" and don't even think to have the courtesy to review recent submissions by other forum users. These are usually the same people who don't thank people that then take the time and effort to review their stuff. Standards just aren't what they used to be I'm afraid chaps - the internet was the death of etiquette lol I rarely bother to respond to those that just post a link and don't bother to engage and take part nowadays - that's just my choice of course

Well Profussia T's bleeting again in the persuit of cesless self ineterest suprise , surprise.
I take it when he means community spirit he's refrering to his past witchunting of provoncial boozers looking to give new local musicasn's a chance at testing their craft out without the presure's and expectations of a paid engagment ? harrasing songwriters producers who want to collabrate but can't offer a finanical incentive , no doubt doing it for the sake of art. Talk about the pot calling the kettle !!!!!!!!
He also attacked another well mannered - inoccent user and got that guys track and comments thread deleated in the storm of his temper tantrum when his deluded paranoia and fanboy obession with moi got the better of him and true to form added 2+2 to get 9; Lolz guy probally smells TD in his bed sheets.
If anyone believe the internet is a community service or that such a thing as community exists in a sphere of communication that has nothing in the way of a tangiable expereicne they really need to get out more and engage in their own community.
Getting back to the OP's question theres a lot of variables why someone might not respond
lack of confedance in writing ,
maybe they droped dead or fell ill in the meantime
lack of continued access to getting online; Dont forget a lot of people have to rely on public internet usage
in the library and what not.
So I take it based on the proxy of the arguments that the Beatles should have bought the Rolling Stones records in return for then buying one of theirs etc etc what do you amuture musicans want a manopoly of mutal back scratching , well that only goes so far before it become meningless.
Being a Musican is a mercanry and self preserving trade regardless of whether they end up in bands for short periods of time self interest is the name of the game. Whether its right or wrong the most mercanry get to the top the obsesvily alturisitc stay where they started. In a industry with no minium wage , no trade union , zero hour contracts part of the job , large overheads , and for the most part meger returns.
I dont necaserry condem some people for being this way.
No one puts a gun to anyones head to check out a track maybe the fact that many make out there doing the composer a favour by checking out there stuff puts people off responding perhaps they can suss out that the comments are not very insightful and are in the main diplomcy so they can be assured certain self preserving safe gaurds with regards to their own work.

In Psychology, Imitation is the partial or complete reproduction or performance of an act that is stimulated by the perception of a similar act by another animal or person. Imitation or copying behavior if clearly evident in humans and animals from the infancy itself. This process involves a model to which the attention and response of the imitator are directed. Here below a girl describes her problems while her friend copies everything.
“I have a friend, she copies all that I do. The way I walk, the way I speak, the way I sit, the way I write, the way I play with my pen while thinking, she will try and do it. She is even copy the way I stand! Seriously i am frustrated a lot. She always try to flirt with my boyfriend. When he approaches me she says to him “go away”. He doesn’t give her the attention, thank God.
She doing Like seriously as he is not my boyfriend. It’s really getting on my nerves and I can not withstand this. I mostly play with either my ears or the back of my hair out of boredom or concentration, she must do that also! I also play with my mouth and guess what… She does it too!!!! The list is endless. How on God’s earth am I suppose to tell this girl to layoff and stop copying me?”

How to Deal with a Copycat Friend
Enjoy the Sincerest Form of Flattery:
People suggests Imitation is sometimes, the Sincerest Form of Flattery. The best thing to do in this situation is to take the high road and take these situations as a compliment. You should be flattered when someone wants to be like you so much that they are copying you.
Stop Thinking:
First you have to stop thinking that, you are completely original, and one-of-a-kind. This is not mostly true, as there are other people who share our interests, big and small. We are also copycats at some point. You pick up certain things from others – like style inspiration.

Buy doing this you will get new experiences out of it along the way.
Keep Things Within You:
If again and again she is picking your brain, and spouting off your opinions and passions as if they were her own, You should try keeping more to yourself. So don’t tell her your stance on an important issue, and conveniently keep her in the dark.
Talk and Explore:
If your friend continually copying you, talk to her personally to reveal reasons behind her insecurity. Being straight with her, and addressing the issue might help more. The key is to be gentle, but direct—in this situation. You can also help her to turn to magazines, TV, art and books to form her own set of thoughts and opinions.

Lol!
I was simply saying if you post a track on here for review from others even a "thank you" for listening to it would be a decent and nice thing to do.
I understand some my feel uncomfortable engaging in comments but a simple thank you for taking the time to listen and giving your feed back is not that challenging to do.
It's called common decency.

I agree but click bait is the name of the game on internet its everywhere there ads for non related music things on this site it's endemic on all forms of social media hench why its laghuable when some call the internet a commnuity , places like Facebook etc might well have been ten years however now its more like a globlised market place with no rules.-the whole of the internet.
Its actually the adveriser who will start to fail is there is an endless amount of self promotion and hype out there no wonder a lot of tracks get ignored and die a death and I'm just talking about the ones that over prmotote from a basis of very little in the first place.
I guess a lot of younger musicans have become a part of it without knowing any diffirent and behave accordingly. Manners are going more and more out of fashion and being replaced with self promotion.
Kudos to Dave for owning up there a fair few on here that are hypocrits when it comes expecting etiquate , from others.

Yep it's the name of the game now in these times I suppose.
I may just be old-fashioned in my view of respect, decency and manners.I do understand some are desperate to get noticed and will do anything to do so but they will gain more favor with their peers if they take the common decency route.
I feel most of the fame hungry will starve with this "modern" approach and find people will ignore rather than engage with them.
I'm not stating which post's I'm referring to with this post but I'm sure you know the one's.

How fickle some people can be. One minute ThomF is flavour of the month and now it's Davemustardface's unfortunate turn. X51 must be feeling rather fortunate he's not got the troll sucking up anymore.
