Hi. I’m looking for an experienced / advanced Lead Guitarist with Vocals and Bassist with Vocals for a special project.
Quality vocals are important from at least one or preferably both of you.
Apologies for the long note but I want to be clear as I don’t want to waste anyone’s time.
I’m an experienced drummer – been playing since the late 70’s. I’ve also played keyboards – but drums are my main instrument.
I’m looking to put together a band to play 15 to 25 gigs a year playing a mixture of classic and modern soft / commercial rock covers. With maybe a few originals if the venue is right. (Think Stereophonics, Pink Floyd, Snow Patrol, AC/DC etc…). NOT heavy / thrash etc. Songs that are well known and will get people up on their feet.
It will be a 3-piece band but will use a click track and some extra instruments and percussion on a backing track for some songs to get a fuller sound where required.
I’m looking to put together a programmed light show and a polished and professional set list.
Due to work / family commitments I don’t really want to be gigging more than once or twice a month. So this may suit someone with similar commitments – or someone already gigging as a solo act or with another band?
Rehearsals will be once a week or to suit everyone until we are ready to gig – then as and when we want. But you should be willing to learn your parts for agreed songs at home so rehearsal time can be used to its fullest. I’d like to be able to get to a quality show in as few rehearsals as possible. But understand that this takes time and the emphasis will be on being polished rather than going out before we are ready.
I have a rehearsal facility with PA etc ready to use. Near jct 28 of the M1.
Age is not important – but I’m am 55.
You should be an experienced, well rounded musician. Preferably with recording experience and some knowledge of Cubase or similar would be useful, but definitely not essential.
Ideally I would like to see / hear you on Youtube or MP3 / website or something to see if you will be a good fit. Or if you are in another band I would be happy to come along to see you.
A sense of humour would be good also.😊
Sorry for the long email - but it's better you know what I'm trying to do so you know if it's for you or not.
Please get in touch for further info or if you have any questions.
Cheers
Garry
