Vocalist wanted for Midlands based MUSE tribute / covers Project
We are excited to be working with a group of Midlands based musicians on a MUSE tribute project. The final line up will be based on ability rather than ‘looks’ and the full band will be a 5 piece (Drums, Keys, Bass, Guitar and Vocals) in order to accurately deliver the MUSE sound to a very high standard.
All the background work is complete – website, social media, etc , and musically the band is rehearsed, has a full set list and has performed a couple of ‘dress rehearsal’ gigs which confirmed their ability to recreate the MUSE sound to an exceptionally high standard. They are now ready to add a vocalist to complete the line up.
The Plan…
Live work is planned to start as soon as the vocalist is up to speed but will take time to ramp up and will initially be focused around the Midlands. The band intends to be fully up to speed with live experience and a strong reputation ready for next year’s festival season.
In line with the current live scene, and being a new band, earnings from initial gigs is not expected to be high (if any). The band is committed to focus on the ability to work and gain experience rather than getting paid.
The Person…
Ideally you will be over 25, have your own transport and be able to attend bi weekly rehearsals in the Warwickshire / Coventry area. You will be happy to work along the lines of the plan above and, if you have other bands / projects, you will prioritise this over any others
You will need to be able to deliver Matt Bellamy’s vocal style and range to a good standard and will have experience of performing live, ideally with a band. Guitar work is not required.
All equipment (including mics, a high quality PA and lighting) is provided but, should you take up this role, you will be required to pay your proportion of the rehearsal fess (generally no more than £10 per session) and provide your own in ear monitoring after an initial period.
The current line up is aged mid 30s and above, gets on well, likes to have a lot fun and there are no egos. You will need to be able to fit in and, importantly, enjoy the banter as well as the serious side of this project.
Interested? (we hope you are!)…
Please reply to this ad telling us a little bit more about yourself and your experience. Please also attach links or instructions to any video or audio you have of yourself performing. Ideally this will be in a live situation.
Unfortunately the band will not audition anyone who has not provided this information and we will use it to select who gets an audition with them - so please include as much info as you can!
Initial auditions are being set up for July and August and will comprise of getting to meet the rest of the band and delivering 5 selected songs during a 45 minute slot.
We will keep you updated on progress throughout and will try to give everyone at least a week’s notice of an audition slot.
We will communicate via the messenger system of the platform used (ie Join My Band, etc) or by email or text if you wish to provide those details.
We look forward to hearing from you
