We are RED LAKE, a hard rocking power-trio with excellent musicianship and a bone-crunching sound. We play groove-infused covers of classic hard-rock and heavy funk and are aiming to launch ourselves on the Midland gig scene next Easter.
We are now looking to expand to a 4-piece and are seeking a top-quality guitarist with transport and pro gear. If you can offer backing vocals, that would be very welcome but not necessarily a deal-breaker if you cant. We need someone reliable and ego-free who would learn and practise songs BETWEEN our fortnightly rehearsals so that we are ready to rock on rehearsal night. You will be fully adept at both lead and rhythm, able to take a solo on a nod and able to jam in any key.
We have a fully equipped rehearsal studio in Telford where all rehearsals take place every second Friday evening, from 7.00-10.00.
Heres how the band currently lines up:
NED BRICKLEY (me) Drums (I own the rehearsal studio in Telford). Im a single-pedal power player like John Bonham, Dave Grohl, Mike Miley etc. If it moves, I hit it; if it DOESN'T move, I still hit it.
CARL PORT Guitar & Lead vocals. Carl is an ex-pro on both bass and guitar. If ever there's a power-cut at a gig, Carl's catalogue of colourful stories will keep any audience amused for hours.
GEORGE WILLETS Bass. Gorgeous George has all the chops - he can make you dance while opening up fault-lines in the earth's crust.
In terms of leadership, I formed the band but we take decisions as a group. This will continue to be the case if we take a new member on.
Repertoire is still under discussion but we have the following songs rehearsed and pretty much gig-ready. Note: we play HARD ROCK, regardless of what band wrote the originals:
Ocean Colour Scene Riverboat Song
Beatles Come Together
ZZ Top Just Got Paid
Billy Idol Rebel Yell
Cream Crossroads
Steppenwolf - Born to be Wild
Jet - Are you Going to be My Girl?
The Cult Fire Woman
Stevie Wonder Superstition
Velvet Revolver Slither
U2 Vertigo
The Cult Love Removal Machine
Looking ahead, these songs are queued up:
Foo Fighters Times Like These
Velvet Revolver She Builds Quick Machines
Royal Blood Figure It Out
Pearl Jam Amongst the Waves
Greta Van Fleet Highway Tune
Deep Purple Strange Kind of Woman
Buckcherry Everything
ZZ Top Tush
Wild Cherry Play That Funky Music
You would be welcome to add suggestions if they fit the band profile. SLEDGEHAMMER GROOVE sums us up.
We are a friendly bunch of blokes and we get on very well together. New members can be assured of a warm welcome if they come bearing good will. Age, race, colour, creed and gender are immaterial.
If you like what you are hearing, please text or ring me on 07514 665 044; well see if we can hook up for a meet.
