Seeking instrumentalists to form an online 'band' to record/write music under any of the following Death Metal styles:
*Technical
*Progressive
*Core (inb4 not death metal subgenre)
I'm a guttural growling/false chord screaming vocalist with 2-3 years experience. (I've also been working briefly on my Peter Steele-esque clean vocals, but I doubt I'll use them very often.) Anyone who's experienced enough (doesn't matter what age or location) can join.
I am only looking for at least a guitarist (or two), a bassist (if guitarists don't want to handle bass duties). Having a drummer would also help a lot too, although I can program drums myself, but not with anything fancy like Superior Drummer or Drumkit From Hell. I'm not all that interested in getting a keyboardist/sampler, because with more than just MIDI programming, I can handle that myself.
I would also expect any instrumentalist devoting to work with me in this project to already have their own equipment for recording their own instrument. All I have prepared is my MacBook, its built-in FaceTime camera (for Google+ Hangouts), its built-in microphone, Tuxguitar (to plan out songs and whatnot), Reaper, Audacity, TextEdit (for lyrics and so on) and Logic Pro 9 (I also have GarageBand, but I don't think I'll use it).
It would also be easier for me if anyone looking to join had any clean singing or lyric writing talent, or can also design a band logo/some artwork.
The project is only computer and internet based, which means, if you haven't worked out already, I'm depending on Google+ for online hangouts/meetings; I can publish music online; we could co-operatively advertise our own music to friends online. I don't think people even use anything other than computers to help mix/produce/write/record music anyway, so it's quite simple.
To start off, the whole project could take one of two paths:
1) Start off by covering songs by other bands, and then write original material later.
2) Write original material right off the bat. Covering music is also optional.
