Rick Wright (Keys) player required.
Another Floyd Tribute band??? Are there not too many, already?
We have thought hard, and long, about posting this advert. But It’s a strong desire to play the material and to do it in a different way to all of the tributes that has necessitated the need to do so. Please, if you’re a Floyd fan, give this 5 minutes to read through.
This is a new start up.
We are looking for Rick Wright and here is what we would like to achieve.
As a huge Floyd fans; we love listening to their true earlier live stuff (post Syd) and it’s never ever like the record. The original band are raw, emotive, passionate and creative and they just put the songs and music across in a magical way that is uniquely different to the albums. It brings a whole new dimension to their genius and it compliments their albums and vice versa. And here is the rub: No one will ever witness them live, as a 4 piece, ever again. Sad.
We want to play their music as a 4 piece the way they wrote, created, recorded, rehearsed and played live themselves. Pretty much everything up to the Wall album was just the 4 of them with the minimal of additional musicians. We're talking Animals, Wish you were Here, DTSOM (most tracks – the rest have large backing vocal’s presence), Meddle etc. We're not opposed to the other later albums, either, but just want to keep it simple and not have a 15 piece band.
We want to do that on a small venue level giving people a chance to witness what they may have missed out on in the 70’s. We want to keep it simple, raw, powerful and affective and allow the audience to enjoy the music close up.
We are keen to meet with a bunch of like minded Floyd fans who want to simply play Floyd well and emotionally.
• We have a free exclusive rehearsal facility just off the East Lancs (evenings or weekends)
• We have a PA system
• We have access to lighting and much larger PA systems for medium to large venues
• We can play and We can sing and we are experienced, motivated and have the right work ethic. We're in our early to mid 40's
• We don’t need the money so it’s not about money for us, though it does need to support itself, eventually.
So how can it be different? Contact us and let’s discuss, We have idea’s but I really want to hear other opinions too.
If this appeals, and we're braced there will be few, then please contact me on paul.blenn@me.com or private message on this site, JoinMyBand.
Hope to hear from you.
