Hi there
I play in (and write songs for) a five-piece band called The Firrenes. We play melodic song-based rock music, with one male (me) and one female singer up front, so there's a bit of a Fleetwood Mac type thing going on there.
The song styles are pretty varied, but fall broadly within the melodic indie/pop/rock genre, with some folk, Americana, classical and soul thrown in. Check out our YouTube videos here:

(If you search for 'Jules Reed singer' or 'The Firrenes' online you will find more examples of the kind of music we do).
Clare, our female singer, is leaving the band to focus on other projects. We therefore have a vacancy for a talented female vocalist. The ability to play an instrument is a bonus but not essential. Similarly, if you write songs and can read music at all, that is an advantage but far from essential. Age is unimportant, but talent and commitment are an absolute must. We consider ourselves to be a professional outfit, with each member receiving a share of any profits from gigs, merch etc.
Our next major gig is on Saturday 8 April in Cabaret Voltaire in Edinburgh. Plans for the year are ambitious and include recording an album and undertaking a small tour of northern Europe in late 2017. We are an originals-only band (though we usually end our set with one or two covers). We rehearse at Summerhall in Edinburgh.
If you like what you hear, if you can do the gig on 8 April and are available for rehearsals in February and March, please reply to this ad with some info about your background and experience, and a link to some recordings of your singing if you have them.
We promise to consider all applications equally, and to respond fully to all submissions.
Cheers for now, and we look forward to hearing from you!
Jules
