Do you want to be part of a really tight, serious band with a professional attitude aiming for total success?
Can you play your instrument to a professional standard, and also fully understand its context within a band? Are you a reasonably fast learner?
Are you willing to put in the time and effort to make this the best band ever?
I'm a 20-year-old experienced guitarist studying at the RCS looking for serious, and enthusiastic musicians to form ‘The Magnificent Murder Show’ a theatrical rock/metal band with jazz country and showtune influences and strong melodic punk leanings also. (A few influences: Avenged Sevenfold, Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, Guns n Roses, Tom Waits, Johnny Cash)
I have some songs already written (some more finished than others) available to listen to on soundcloud - www.soundcloud.com/hughholtonproject - Feel free to ignore the quality of the vocal performance, I won’t be singing!
Specifically I'm looking for a highly skilled guitarist, with good musical knowledge of multiple styles and genres to play both rhythm and lead parts, swapping and trading off the parts I’ll be playing. Good, well structured soloing ability is essential.
Good stage presence and willingness to try new stuff are a must.
Ideally I'd have the majority of creative control, as I have a clear vision of what I'd like the band to do, so ideal members would be really into the style I'm writing in and happy and willing to play their part in being a completely awesome band as a whole, as opposed to a vehicle for any particular player. I will actively try not to be selfish or egotistical, and will happily listen to all suggestions, but I think its a good idea to have an executive decision maker in a band to keep things on track.
On the theatrical idea - I'm thinking a really energetic stage show, in the same vain as Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie but in our own original style with lots going on onstage- a lot of emphasis on performance rather than solely the music.
I appreciate that's a lot of details, but I'm really interested in finding people who are really into the idea, and if you're up for it or have any questions then I'd be really happy to hear from you.
