I'm putting together a new party band with the intention of securing a contract with Celebrity Cruises, who I have already done two contracts with. I have an agent in place who is ready to take band information and video footage to send to the cruise line.
The contract will be approximately 4 months long, and we'll play an average of 3 or 4 x 45 minute sets a day, with occasional days off.
You'll need to be confident with a wide range of contemporary styles. We'll play basically anything popular from the 50's until now: 50's rock n' roll, motown, soul, funk, disco, 80's/90's pop, Top 40, etc. Not really any jazz, as there is a jazz band on the ship too. You'll also need to be confident using two keyboards. The ship provides a Yamaha CP4 (I think) for all your piano and organ sounds, but you'll need to bring some kind of synth for everything else (horns, strings, synths, etc). The ship also provides double keyboard stands.
Male or female, I don't mind. Vocals a bonus, but not absolutely necessary.
You'll also need to get a C1D visa and a full PEME Medical certificate. These do cost money, but it's worth it.
The pay will be around $2250 a month (I'm gonna try and get us more, but we'll see)
Previous experience isn't required, I don't mind taking on new people. You get paid to play music and travel the world, it's an amazing job, and a great way of saving money as accommodation and food is provided.
Rehearsals will be taking place up north, somewhere around Leeds/Manchester.. I don't really mind where you're based, but you're gonna need to be willing to travel. If you're right for the job, I'll be open to negotiating how the rehearsals work. Maybe do one full days rehearsal every few weeks, instead of shorter weekly rehearsals, to save on travelling. We'll figure it out!
Please link to any audio/video recordings of you playing.. it's much easier if I can see you do what you do.
If you're at all interested, please apply! Don't hesitate to ask a question if you have any.
Thanks!
