29 year old hardcore vocalist looking to start a hardcore/punk/emo/melodic hardcore/modern grunge/shoegaze/skate punk or a hybrid band. Open to joining like minded individuals/bands also! Don’t drive but am open to travelling within a 50 mile radius public transport permitting.
Tryna look to bands like title fight, turnstile, make do and mend, the world is a beautiful place and I am no longer afraid to die, defeater, deftones, touche amore, one step closer, knocked loose (older, less metal stuff), allusondrugs/inlove, casey, giants etc for sonic inspo. Obviously after some time and rapport is built we can attempt to craft our own unique sound with pedalled guitars, bouncy rhythm guitars, grungy bass and typical hardcore drums with some flare, but I feel these bands are a good solid foundation to build up from and pack together to make something that sounds decent and not forced together.
Capable of writing lyrics once I have the groundwork of a song and can feel the tempo and mood, I have plenty of experience playing shows (never toured, I figure that’s an important detail that I’m green to) from being in a metalcore band (will link below so you can hear what I sound like though I hate the production on my voice, just sounds super echoey (DIY baybee) and my heart wasn’t fully in it due to mental health issues and just not fully vibing with what we were making though I still love the dudes to death). I assure you that with practice and consistency and something I sonically get down with I’ll be a 110% ride or die with you! I’d say lyrically Pinkman//Heisenberg and June 29th are my best recorded songs, my best one with that band was only played once live and never recorded, I could maybe send the lyrics to you as and when we make contact. https://conflictsuk.bandcamp.com/album/june-29th-e-p
Ideally I wouldn’t be the only vocalist, I feel if it’s 70/30 screaming I could sing/shout melodically just to supplement it, but doubt I could be a full time singer. I certainly very much enjoy singing but I doubt I sound good in the slightest lmao. Hoping to find musicians who can also at least shout with some distortion for gang vocals.
As I mentioned skate punk, it’s not necessary but ideally I’d prefer people I share other hobbies with and am a similar age and that to. I’m an avid skateboarder and would love to do skate punk since my vocals can just be yelled and it still sound decent (I’ve not practiced vocals consistently in years since getting the boot in 2015 and had many many bongs in that time hahaha). If we were to go for that over melodic hardcore/emo I’d like for it to have some elements of hardcore (drums, bouncy riffs to slam dance to, deep, grungy basslines, and my shouty, less distorted vocals etc).
I know it’s a big ask in such a niche and I’m sort of all over the place when genres are concerned so I ain’t getting my hopes up but I look forward to maybe hearing from you!
