Hi everyone,
I am a Soprano vocalist from the East Kilbride area currently studying HNC/HND music and vocals at the Academy of Music and Sound in Glasgow and am looking for any part time paid work with maybe a wedding or ceilidh band looking for any vocalists to add to their band or any bands in need of a singer who have gigs at events of wherever (paid preferably) lined up!
I am an experienced vocalist with multitudes of performing experience whether as a soloist or as part of a band. I have been part of several bands including my college band (who are predominantly a rock band), my High School Senior Wind, Jazz and Brass band of which I played the trumpet but also had the opportunity to sing as a soloist and with the Jazz Band. I have performed as a soloist and in choirs in many concerts, gigs, care homes, primary schools/toddler groups, events and venues including George Square, the Old Fruit Market and for Lord Sebastion Coe at a sports event. I am completely versatile in what genres I can sing and can adapt to any given genre and to give a clearer insight, I can sing; Jazz, Pop, Rock, Musical Theatre, Blues, Motown, Singer Songwriter, Folk, Soul, Classical, Heavy Rock, Contemporary Christian Music etc! But I am also open to learning new genres.
I have had a year's training in Musical Theatre including Estill training and have been in musicals and pantos! I have even led my own Youth Worship Band as well as performing in my own Church Worship Band! I have gained a lot of new skills and knowledge over the past year in Music Theory, Music Business, Music History, Songwriting, Performance, Composition and have gained more insight into genres meaning I have been able to add more songs to my repertoire. I also play piano and have had training in mainly classical piano but have begun to branch out into other genres. I can usually take the chord structure of a song and improvise with the melody using the chords for my own take on a song. I can sight read very well and can learn pieces quickly if needs be. I can also accompany myself on the piano when singing. I can harmonise very well and have a good ear for harmonising when singing with other vocalists.
I also write my own material and enjoy song-writing as a hobby but would consider recording any material. I have experience recording and rehearsing in music studios. I also recently organised a gig for Nordoff Robbins and raised around £660; it was an awesome night and I gained so many skills and experience as a gig maker. I am still learning but would consider myself to be very experienced in performing and vocals and am quick in learning songs. I always take a professional approach to everything I do and absolutely love and have loved working and performing in a band with other talented musicians.
I am looking for part time work, in and around East Kilbride and Glasgow, that I can fit in alongside studying at college which I will be returning to in August so am unsure of what days I will be in college yet but am currently completely flexible and always available on the weekends. I am looking for paid work preferably but am open to any work for experience or if anyone is in need of a vocalist; then I'm here to help! If anyone has any questions or are interested then give me a shout and I'd be happy to hear from you!
Thanks everyone,
Katie
