Hello,
We are a middle age 3 piece who are working on home recordings. WE HAVE NO INTENTION TO GIG OR PLAY COVERS, the aim of the project is creating original songs If we're ever good enough we will release recordings via the net, but having fun is the essential aim, don't expect commercial success. We play a variety of styles from folk to punk via indie, blues, and rock with occasional elements of classical or jazz, the net result is 'no particular genre'.
We have a couple of dozen demos in various stages of production, but non are yet finished. Between us we have descent guitar/keyboard/male vocal capacity, but are strictly amateur, consequently we don't want any absolute beginners, just as long as you are reasonably proficiently. Age is not an issue, as long as you're comfortable mixing with people well past their prime!
We generally meet up every couple of weekends, but there is no routine, nor will it be essential for people to attend every session. Due to the size of the room, 5 people could be a bit cramped so an adhoc arrangement is probably the way forward. As I am retired any day/time is possible.
I play drums to a very basic standard but we need someone better for decent recordings. I have a dedicated music room with a reasonable kit permanently set up. We record on DAW but only have an 8 mic interface, consequently drums for final versions have to be recorded separately to the rest of the band, although early demos can be made live.
We also, for variety, want a female vocalist for some lead and BVs. If you are also an instrumentalist it would allow you more involvement, but is not essential
I own numerous instruments that I play with varying degrees of ability, but all below par compared to the bands guitar/keys standard. So if you can hold a tune on strings, woodwind or brass that would be of great benefit to the group
Any additional members would be welcome to bring their own compositions, and hopefully will co-write with us.
Cheers
Gerard
