you still looking for a band??? here is my ad on here , please read through and get back to me.
I am posting here on the off chance somebody maybe serious enough about their craft
Guitarist (Dan) Drummer (Rob) and Vocalist (Jay) with plenty of experience of gigs and touring under their belts are looking for a talented Bass player for a new project (Mercury Doll)
We are looking for someone who has diverse abilities and is interested in exploring/mixing genres and styles, be it light, heavy, power, grooves or melody, and experimenting with time signatures and break downs.
Own equipment is essential and transport would be a bonus.
We draw our interests from bands such as, Tool, Biffy Clyro, Jet, A Perfect Circle, Alterbridge, Porcupine Tree, Foo Fighters, Reef, Amplifier, Alice in chains NIN etc..
We are looking to create a mix of sounds to achieve an original sound with elements of all of the above and more, such as the powerful riffs of Rage Against the Machine thrown in too. Also on a softer note, the acoustic styles of John Butler Trio, Fink and Ben Harper possibly.
We are keen to get this started and have a rehearsal space and studio to write, compose and develop our sound.
At the moment we are creating the music online together passing files back and forth to get the general shape and sound of the tracks, and when we have a few ideas down we will meet for a few days at the rehearsal/studio that we have free access to and thrash them out and develop the tracks to perfection. So having the ability to record and send files online is important too.
Ideally, we would like musicians that are based in or between Bristol and North Wiltshire for rehearsal and writing reasons, and between the ages of 22 and 35,

What we intend on doing is getting a set of 40 mins tops together to play and rotate, we want to be playing great venues and festivals, and all being well, tour. We want to start off with top support slots to capture the right audience and grow from there , we are not looking at playing the dog and duck in the middle of nowhere to an audience that won't appreciate the music, we want to aim high, and start at venues that reflect that. Its very important to enjoy what you are playing/making.
Only talented musicians with drive and passion need apply.
PLEASE DO NOT WASTE OUR TIME ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT PLAYING BASS TO THIS STYLE OF MUSIC AND WANT TO BE A PART OF THIS PROJECT!!!
Please send demos and a brief description about yourself to - Jay at ( )
