We're looking for any musicians (vocals, organs/keys, trumpet, saxophone, violins etc) that would be interested in writing as a collaborative consortium to write music that blends the dark and cinematic sensibilities of post-punk/Goth music with soul, jazz, blues, funk, latin, dub and other genres of music. Something that could soundtrack a drunk excursion to the red light district.
We currently practice in Wolverhampton and are ideally looking for someone in a similar age range to ourselves (22-26).
Writing has been very progressive over a very short space of time and as such we have a few rough demos that we can share.
I'm after guys/girls that are serious about what they do as musicians, are experienced, committed and aren't just facilitators for other peoples ideas. The nature of the band would be everyone contributing from their own respective corners to ultimately shape the sound, so any singer songwriters are welcome but don't expect to completely run the show. We already have myself on bass, a guitarist, drummer and keys/sax player involved and want to expand the collective.
Bands that I'd cite as being influences for now would be The Doors, Bowie, Santana, The Birthday Party, Bonobo, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Joy Division, Marching Church, Ice Age, Al Green, Prince, David Holmes, FRANK, Buena Vista Social Club, Roxy Music, Interpol, Bauhaus, and whatever might sit under that rather big umbrella of stuff.
I'm after people that live and breathe music, people that play their instrument like it's an extension upon who they are and would die without it.
