Hi,
I posted this a while ago but seismic and disturbing life events took over for a time. Now I have had a nice cup of tea and a sit down I am ready for more music-making:
I am looking for someone to play a laptop/keyboards/electronics/samples with me and possibly any other instrument that comes to hand. My idea is to have two people making electronic noises, with some sequenced drums or loops. On the other hand, I am interested hearing from any musicians at all who might want to play something a bit different. My idea of the 'hook' is to have a fair bit of fun retro eighties references or full tracks thrown in a set along with original material.
I am looking to form a primarily electronic based band playing experimental music, but influenced by both weird and popular eighties electronic music. The idea would be to rehearse a few songs and play live to test the water and build up a set, sometimes with vocals, sometimes instrumental.
I have a variety of keyboards and electronic paraphernalia such as a Roland SP505, laptop with some Analogue modeling synths, NI Kore etc, Roland Juno G, Akai Miniak, Boss VE20, Emu Proteus, Roland XV5050, and other synths and guitars. It would be good to rehearse weekly with a view to playing some gigs fairly soon.
A few references: Beck, Vince Clark, Yazoo, Soft Cell, Depeche Mode, John Foxx, Tara Busch, Hot Chip, Worm Is Green, Bjork, Four Tet, Fridge, Pest, Heaven 17, Kraftwerk., Wilco, Moloko, Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx, Phantogram, Tricky, Portishead, UNKLE, The Flaming Lips, Eels.
I have revamped my web page and I am just putting some of my material on there so please have a listen - it will give you an idea of my level of ability. Oh yes, I am just past 40 but young in outlook and relatively unwrinkled. really.
