Hey all,
My name's Chris, an able lead guitarist. Looking to form a hard rock covers band (don't mind doing some originals as well). I've played in a bunch of bands, paid covers and originals, as well as a few studio sessions. Got the gear and a car. This aint no money making venture (though a few quid will be made), or attempt to become a rockstar - just wanting to hang out with some fellow rock fans and play gigs for fun
I'm thinking, just hang out and jam, work on putting a killer set together (no huge rush), and eventually get out and gig at the weekends in the local pubs and bars. Definitely up for writing a few originals, if other members want to.. When it comes to originals, not particularly fussed about being a clone of an existing band, just see what happens.
I'm 33 myself, personally not really fussed about the age of fellow members to be honest. Must be old enough to drink, and young enough to survive a fairly demanding hard rock set while having a laugh, would be my thoughts on it. Really looking for laid back people, who wana play rock, drink and have a laugh - and who can play their instruments/sing.
Kind of music? Okay, some random bands (in no particular order); Ozzy, Motley Crue, Whitesnake, AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Kiss, Warrant, Lynch Mob, Skid Row, Guns n Roses, Van Halen, Montrose, Sabbath, Mr Big, UFO, ZZ Top, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Extreme, Deep purple.. could go on.
The one and only thing Im not keen on is - soppy ballads - when it comes to cover material I f*cking hate playing ballads..(people have twisted my arm in the past). Would much rather just rock flat out, people don't typically crowd around and cheer when playing ballads.. in fact it usually signals a fag break lol.
Anyway if you think you might want to do something similar, let me know..
Cheers, Chris.
