We are looking for a Keyboard player for the STREETCAR9 band.
We are a 5 piece Soul & Funk Dance band, playing cherished favorite's from the Godfather of Soul, JAMES BROWN, to CURTIS MAYFIELD, TOWER OF POWER, ARETHA FRANKLIN, AVERAGE WHITE BAND and STEVIE WONDER.
We are called Streetcar9 and although we had only been together a short while, we were steadily growing in popularity & getting regular gigs.
During the recent events in the world, most of the original members have moved away with some going overseas so I’ve decided to try & start again from scratch.
As a Band we were trying to keep away from obvious cover band material so we didn't play Soul Man or All Night Long but instead played brilliant forgotten gems and slightly lesser known songs and great songs we hadn’t heard covered too often.
Rehearsals will be around the London area at The Premises studios in Hackney, Husky studios near the Elephant & Castle and Rogue studios in Bermondsey amongst others, depending on availability.
As we will be more or less a new band we won’t start with regular paid gigs but in my experience, after the first few gigs, that all seems to take care of itself so hopefully we will build up a regular circuit of paying gigs plus paid private functions.
I want to try to rehearse every week or fortnightly until we start gigging more frequently. This means we will all have to chip in to pay for rehearsals but this shouldn’t be too much of an expense & once we are up and running then the money from gigs will take care of that.
If you are looking for immediate paid work or already play in several other bands then this is not the band for you.
But If you do want to play in an exciting band, have some fun and want to work with me to see where it takes us, then please get in touch & come along for an audition.
I am the sax player in the band and we are currently looking for a Bass player
All ages welcome but please make sure that you have all your own gear & can transport it to rehearsals & gigs!
Many thanks
Ian
