Hi there,
The Hampshire Guitar Club are looking for a drummer to help keep everyone in time for the vast range of songs that are covered within the club.
Usually we do 12 to 14 songs when we meet up (Thursday evenings 7pm until 9pm).
It's been going for 10 years now, with a steady amount of members (around 15 to 20 always turn up - obviously not while Covid and lockdown was happening).
We have singers, bass players, and of course guitarists ranging from different abilities (some of us are in gigging bands), and we have acoustic players as well as electric, lead and rhythm guitarist.
It's a nice social club with no pressure within the group.
Drummer of any ability is fine, as long as you can commit to come along on Thursday evenings.
Your own kit would be useful, acoustic or electronic works. We do use cajuns occasionally to help keep time on some songs, and backing tracks of drums on others.
Songs range from everything - Johnny Cash, Adele, American punk, brit punk, pop, blues, REM, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Bryan Adams, Eagles, Joan Jett, Kaiser Chiefs, Kings of Leon, Led Zep, Thin Lizzy, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Muse, Blondie, and so on, so there is plenty of songs in there to keep everyone happy.
We do concerts also, where the club settle on themes and then split into 4 to 5 bands to perform. always goes down well. Breakout sessions also happen where members get taught music theory, new songs, bands from the past etc.
If you are looking to have a regular drum workout every week or just getting into drums, come along or get in touch. If you have not been gigging quite some time, have come out of gigging bands and are looking for your next project, this will help keep up your drumwork also.
We'd like to hear from you.
Thanks for looking.
