I'm a Producer and Guitarist/Singer in a semi-successful rock group, and we're looking at putting together a band/project that takes pop songs old and new and reinvents them as rock songs. For example, Girls Aloud's 'Love Machine' as covered by the Arctic Monkeys or Alannis Morisette's 'Ironic' as covered by Four Years Strong. We plan on adding things like S Club 7 and Backstreet Boys (amongst MANY others) and making them our own - and actually good.
We currently have a Singer a Bassist and Rhythm Guitarist and all reasonably competent.
The project is casual in nature, we plan on just getting a bunch of songs together and playing the odd gig/wedding and having some fun. We're all in our 30's with families and jobs so this isn't really a fulltime thing - age isn't really a factor here either.
Standards need to be fairly high though - We're looking primarily for a drummer who can play hard, fast and well. Good on-stage charisma would help but not essential - must have a good understanding for what works and what doesn't. Must have own kit and transport and able to split any rehearsal space fees etc - likewise, any revenue generated will be split evenly between members.
Recordings of past and current work available on request so you can get a feel of how good/bad we actually are, and if it's the kind of thing you're interested in. You can search YouTube/Spotify etc. for 'Murica - Maniac' to hear a cover we've done before
Hit me up if you're a lead guitarist interested in this also, all of the above requirements apply for this too.
