Hi, I’m Steve, 25, and I’ve recently moved back to the Manchester area and looking to kickstart an original band which is going to be focused on live shows (good music that gets people moving, live music is the only way you’re realistically going to make it as a guitar band).
The influences that our music will take from are Manchester bands such as oasis, the stone roses, the smiths, happy Monday’s, the Courteeners etc.
I write music but am happy for contribution from everyone, if you’d rather take a back seat though it’s fine I just don’t want to be a control freak over that part.
The music will be loud. It will have the bass player and drummers bass and snare cutting through the mix to create music that people want to dance or jump around too, something that will excite people which is something guitar music is just started to come out with again. The lyrics will be real and relatable. The rhythm guitar will create a wall of sound. The lead guitar will work the vocals to create memorable and well written harmonies and melody with the drums hi hat and fills creating groove.
I have a good knowledge of music marketing as it’s something I’m interested in but I want this to be a band project not a solo project!
We will practice in Stockport or Manchester, whichever is agreed on by the final line up.
Also the secret ingredient to any success in entertainment is charisma/personality so please only apply if you can have a laugh with everything apart from work ethic revolving around the actual music and progress of the band. It also means we’ll probably get on a lot better!
I personally am happy to go rhythm and try vocals but if someone who believes they are a f***king good front man then please come forward.
To apply email me on stephenhorseman@gmail.com or on here, I’ll give you my number if things are looking good. If you have anything of you playing relatable stuff send that my way too as it will help.
Any money made will of course firstly go back into the band.
Cheers and if this sounds like a project you can get involved in I look forward to hearing from you.
Please let me know your name, age, where you are based what you play etc in your reply, the usual stuff.
