Hello, hi. We're a rock covers band called Flying Low and we are (still) looking for a bass player.
We've been looking for a long time now and we have come close, but we have yet to find the 'right' man or woman for the job. We've met some very cool people, but, since we have a reliable dep at present for gigs, we have been afforded the luxury of being really, really picky. The fact is, we're looking for a permanent band member and friend, and so far we've just not yet met that guy/gal.
About the band:
When you join, we'll be a four-piece. We usually call ourselves 'classic rock covers' but the setlist has drifted from that specific description a little, in recent years. We like to try to be a little different with our song choices, without straying too far from what our audience will recognise. Our focus is putting on a show and we are pretty good at it.
In terms of shows, we ARE currently booking for the rest of the year and next. We'd like to be gigging once or twice a month, and rehearsing at least every two weeks. Lately we rehearse in Brighton but that is not set in stone and we are open to other locations.
It's pretty important to note that we're not a slick pro function band out to make a profit by playing Uptown Funk 40,000 times a year. We're no amateurs but if you're hoping to make lots of cash on the side, this is not the awesome band for you.
About you:
We'd like you to be a human bass player. Age, gender, ethnicity, wig/no wig, etc etc of no importance. We do not demand a virtuoso player - merely that you can handle the parts required. Pro gear not required, reasonably nice demeanour definitely required. Transport preferred, dedication same.
Short version:
Rock covers. Cool band. Nice people. Join us and play bass. No Uptown Funk.
Give me a shout via this website and I can fire a set list over at you and then talk further.
Cheers!
