On the look for an experienced Bass Player who wants to be in the sort of band that is playing to party crowds so will include: Corporate/Weddings/Parties/Private Events/Festivals etc.
After years of playing in classic rock/pop cover bands (Sugar Rush & the Guilty) guitarist & drummer are now going in a totally new and different direction in terms of music and venues etc.
We will be using backing tracks on all songs (keyboard/percussion/bv’s etc) with ‘click’ track to enhance the sound and will be looking to be a ‘polished’ suited and booted act, this wont be jeans & t shirt grunge pub rock (though nothing wrong with that!)
Ideally you will have lots of playing and gigging experience, possibly of a more mature age range (30's/40's/50's) and having played with some brilliant and very talented bass players in the past we are looking for someone new to bring new influences on what will be a fresh start up project.
If you can and want to answer ‘yes’ to the following questions we’d love to hear from you:
1) Can you rehearse once a week (Tuesdays NR18)
2) Do you have professional quality eqpt. (though you will be DI’d into the PA and 'in ear'd)
3) Can you play with a click track/backing track or prepared to learn.
4) Professional attitude towards performance, appearance and playing.
We WONT be playing in pubs, that is not what this will be, again this will be aimed at the ‘party scene’ which might sound awful to some but in reality playing in pubs till gone midnight for £40 each is no longer appealing. We want to play fun music that’s a little different from ‘Highway to Hell’ covers. We would be looking to charge accordingly and so will need to be polished & smart.
To give you some idea of musical direction the following songs are already underway and will form part of the set:
Van Halen – Jump
Frankie Goes To Hollywood – Two Tribes
Robbie Williams – Let Me Entertain you
Roachford – Cuddly Toy
Prince – Lets Go Crazy
Robert Palmer – Simply Irresistible
Walk The Moon – Shut Up And Dance
Glen Frey – The Heat Is On
Bon Jovi – Livin On A Prayer & You Give Love A Bad Name
Huey Lewis – Power of Love
Plus some classic Blink/Snow Patrol/Stereophonics etc…basically anything upbeat with a prominent keyboard sound included. Looking more towards doing 80’s 90’s keyboard rock pop stuff. Again open minded and flexible with song choices..but it’s about keeping a party dance floor filled.
If interested drop a line and find out more.
