Hi. My name is Matthew (excuse my username made this account when I was 16) , and I'm a Guitarist/Songwriter/Producer looking for a Talented Unique Female Rock Singer for my latest band project, preferably someone with a rock star presence that can front the band with me and a decent vocal range that fits both melodic and aggressive songs.
Currently studio bound due to lack of dedicated members in the past (by studio I mean bedroom studio for now, lol) but eventually want to go live and record in professional studios when other members are found. Till then, I find it more productive to work on recordings myself and would only need a singer to finalize the song.
I write and produce everything myself, and have been a Guitarist and Songwriter for over 6 years (and I opened this account back in 2017!) so have a lot of material to pull from so you won't be starved of songs anytime soon!
My sound is largely influenced by classic and alternative rock, mainly pre Early 2000s, with big influences from 70s/80s rock, some 90s alternative influences, 70's to 90's era punk and even some prog and thrash metal influences in there. The Heavier stuff is closer to Hardcore Punk or 70's era hard rock though so not a full on metal project and there are some influences from the 2000's onwards. I believe it has a fresh take without being antiquated and there's a good variety in songs, from heavier punky songs to more emotionally potent ballads. I'm avoiding the largely oversaturated sound of the 2000's indie bands which seems to be popular in Liverpool and equally the clinically produced guitar sounds of Polphia and so called zoomer rock (it's fine if you like this stuff, just not what I want to produce artistically).
My Guitar style has plenty of soloing and melody as well as more aggressive rhythm playing and shredding, though feel is most important to my playing and development as a Guitarist. Previous musicians have said my guitar playing has a blues psychedelic sound which I largely agree with, as well as having an Eddie Van Halen influence, though I'm not reliant on speed and technique for solos as I've mentioned.
I'm a down to earth laid back person with a strong work ethic for music, so please don't contact me half arsed or with a big ego; have passion and dedication for this project wherever it should go and respect myself and other potential future members. I've made my own instrumental solo music for a little over two years so have learnt plenty of the dos and don'ts of recordings! I've always wanted my music to have vocals, and have only managed one solo collaboration so I am looking for someone permanent to take things forward. I also have a tonne of ideas for promotion and marketing so I've thought the majority of details out!
I'm used to working with Musicians between Southport and Liverpool, I'm based in Crosby which is nicely in the middle. Liverpool tends to be where the action is though, especially down the line considering Gig venues etc, but again I can be flexible depending on commitment level.
Age Range? Preferably between 18 and mid to possibly late 20s; depending on how invested you are, I can be somewhat flexible with age, I'm 23.
Influences range from Van Halen, ACDC, the Beatles, the Cult, David Bowie, Aersomith (70's mainly) The Rolling Stones, Motley Crue, the Smashing Pumpkins, the Smiths, Black Sabbath, R.E.M, Megadeth, Dream Theater, Manic Street Preachers, the Clash, the Sex Pistols, some Paramore and even classical Music (Tchovisky and Beethoven mainly, with some Bach and Mozart too) .
Key Guitar Influences include: Eddie Van Halen, Angus Young, Billy Duffy (The Cult), David Gilmour, Hendrix, Keith Richards, Billy Corgan, Jon Petrucci, Toni Iomi, Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Dave Mustaine, Steve Vai (solo) and James Hetfield (Metallica).
Hit me up and I'll send you over some songs for the project and an example of a previous collaboration I did with a singer that I'm thinking I'd like to re-record for this project so you can get a feel of the songs and my production skills. Please judge it more from a songwriter, musicianship point of view; due to recording digitally via digi amps, I can easily upgrade how the guitars and bass sound overtime and remix and remaster things too if you don't like the production and mixing of the songs.
Hope to hear from you soon and hope you have a similar attitude to me. Thank you for reading
