So, I'm 21 and a beginner level vocal who's been singing on his own for quite a while. I was in band before in school, but it was never serious. I did do a few lives but that was it. I HAVE NO STUDIO EXPERIENCE, but I really want to get there.
I live in a STUDENT ACCOMMODATION as to that, I can't sing letting my voice out properly.
VOCAL STYLE(S): I have a very soft, clean and mellow voice. It's normally seen in pop songs, but I wanna use this for singing rock, if you wonder or think thats not possible, there's POWER METAL, thank you.
I also can sing in deep voice which is quite a dramatic voice as the vocal register changes dramatically from low, slightly raspy and quite deep to high and clean. This is usually seen in Japanese Rock songs.
Last but not least a unique heavy raspy bass baritone voice usually seen in Industrial Rock/Industrial Metal music, more specifically my all time favourite RAMMSTEIN.
I need to practice before I can solidify any of them, while they sound brilliant at times, at others I sound bad due to lack of practice. Not to mention here in my room I sing trying to hold my voice in which adds extra tension so I can't sing well.
MUSICAL SKILLS: I feel I am moderately good in musical theory, know a few modes and even styles that make sounds unique to get their desired mood across.
INSTRUMENTAL SKILLS: I am primarily a vocal but I know how to play rhythm guitar and can shift to lead guitar too if required.
VOCAL RANGE: Sometimes I feel i'm a high baritone and other times a bari-toner. My voice isn't as high as Robert Plants "AND AS WE WIND ON DOWN THE ROAD" on head voice, but I can make use of falsetto to make it come out at quite ease with slight falsetto mixing.
Here's something, I can sing Hotel California by Eagles perfectly in both Bm and Am on the high sides. So if my musical theory knowledge serves me right my highest key is D but safe/preferred key is C (allowing me to very comfortably sing Hotel California in Am).
Last but not least, I am a University student, I cannot practice weekly but WILL undoubtedly have band practice monthly, at least twice a month. I graduate soon, and of course in summer and other breaks i'll be free more and therefore more practice. As for getting us out there, YES I WANNA WRITE ORIGINAL CONTENT ASAP and start doing shows and in those times I shall practice more.
But for now I really want to get a serious band out there on the road.
